Physical Verification
Physical verification is the process of physically confirming that assets recorded in the register actually exist, are in the recorded location, and are in the condition and ownership status the books show.
Typically run as a scheduled campaign — annually, or more often for high-risk locations — physical verification involves scanning or otherwise identifying each asset on-site and comparing the result against the register. It's the primary control against ghost assets, unrecorded assets, and misplaced equipment, and it's what CARO expects a company to be doing at 'reasonable intervals.'
How AssetIQ helps
AssetIQ's offline-first mobile app runs verification campaigns even at low-connectivity sites, and every scan feeds directly into the Reconciliation Agent for same-day classification instead of a manual post-campaign reconciliation.
